Discipleship Centre

       MORE ABOUT US

The year 2002-03 has witnessed a number of activities especially in the human resources sector. Steps were taken to frame the Staff Charter involving every section of the Discipleship Centre family so that each one owned this document of the organisation.  Prior to this the staff and members of the Board gave their inputs in bringing out the vision and mission statements of the organisation. In the process the core values of the organisation were also noted. The Staff Charter thus framed, encompassed all the policies of the organisation which would help in steering it and in turn would also be a guide to each staff member in stepping in tune on the rules thus formulated. The Staff Charter enveloped both the financial and administrative policies of the organisation thus helping the authorities and staff alike in not stepping on each others shoes. Also the human element was taken into account and steps were initiated to reward the staff according to their labour. Each staff member was given a fresh appointment letter along with his or her job description. Based on their job description each staff member was told to enumerate their job objectives for the period in question so that accordingly their performance would be reviewed at the end of the period. As a consequence of this review the staff would be suitably rewarded.

SERVICE CENTRE FOR THE BLIND

During the financial year 2002-03, the activities in the Centre for the visually handicapped increased. We were able to arrange retreats and get-togethers. Our staff continued to counsel those who had problems and tensions. In fact many of our visually impaired friends looked up into our counselors for their safe – like advice.

Magazine

1500 copies of the Hindi Braille Magazine - Deepak were sent to the old and new Blind contacts residing in various parts of the country.  Many of them benefited by reading this magazine.  In fact this magazine has helped in guiding the visually handicapped people on the right path. Braille Bible portions were dispatched to our contacts in various parts of the country.  Visually Impaired persons benefited from this.

We thank and Praise God for giving us another year to reach out to the unreached.  Under the purview of  “Harvest Bulandshahr” programme we conducted various outreach programmes along with our community health programme where in our community health workers organized health awareness programmes and conducted campaigns on hygiene in the villages of Bulandshahr district. By His Grace we have been able to act as catalysts in the process of transformation in the various hamlets of this western district of Uttar Pradesh.
