An Epitome Of Hope

J. K. Arora, 52, from Faridabad, Haryana. A self-employed, visually impaired businessman, he is a role model for all to emulate. His modest business venture of supplying incense sticks, candles and dusters on bulk orders to hotels and other institution has started bearing fruits.

Today, he is an employer; employing 2 visually impaired people and 2 sighted individuals.

VICTORY IS THE FRUIT OF PERSEVERANCE AND ENDURANCE

Water - The Elixir Of Life

Lakshmi Devi of Bheelon ki Dhaani, a hamlet in the Jodhpur District of Rajasthan.

These women were treading a difficult path.

A walk of 6 km. sometime did not guarantee them a pot of water. Bathing and washing clothes became a luxury which they could seldom indulge. With the tanka/cistern constructed by DC, clean water is available in their village. Today, she has more time to take part in our development activities and to nurture her children and family.

Water becomes an element of empowerment.

HOPE DAWNS THROUGH WATER.

The Little Girl From Gujarat

The Gujarat earthquake taught the nation not only the tragedy of a disaster but also the miracle of recovery.

This little girl is Roopa Dhana, 7, from the Jetasari village of Rapar block.

daughter of Naviben Dhana, a widow, she symbolises everything that hope stands for. She and her mother are agricultural labourers. To Roopa, this house is a TREASURE.

We help rebuild homes, not just houses. Partnering with the people of Gujarat to rebuild their world has been a transforming learning experience enriching us as an organisation.

Rebuilding Gujarat is a mammoth exercise. Our efforts are directed towards confidence building, restoring hope and recreating dreams.
